Printed Circuits
Printed Circuits, also known as Printed Circuit Boards, or PCBs, are flat boards that are utilized in electronics to mechanically support and electrically connect components by means of conductive pathways, or traces, that are etched onto a substrate or printed onto it. Fiberglass or plastic are typically used to construct the circuit, and copper layers serve as the conductive pathways. By providing a platform for components like resistors, capacitors, and chips to work together in a coordinated manner, PCBs serve as the backbone of virtually every electronic device, from smartphones to computers. Printed circuits can be rigid, flexible, or even a combination of both, depending on the application.
